Lloyd Harris v Richard Gasquet Head to Head
They played once before and it came in Dubai in 2020 with Harris winning 7-6(5) 6-4.

Bad Year For Harris
Lloyd Harris has had a very bad year so far with only a 7-13 record. The South African broke out last year winning over 30 matches on the ATP tour. He rose through the ranks on the ATP tour but seemingly hit a peak this year unable to replicate the same level.
Harris is a prototypical modern tennis player with a very strong first serve and a forehand that can accompany it. He plays best on hard courts and can be dangerous on grass whereas his clay game is rather weak. His 2-5 record on clay is not choking but 4-6 on hard courts is not good.
He is also quite streaky meaning that he can find form rather quickly. Mostly it coincides with a serving clinic and that changes from one event to another. He reached the 2nd round each time he played in Paris so that’s something to consider as well.

Gasquet Still Kicking Around
Richard Gasquet is not one of the better players anymore but he is a player capable of beating you if you give him a chance. He recently proved that in Geneva by taking down Daniil Medvedev in straight sets. He went on to reach the semifinal there just in time for the French Open.
Gasquet traditionally played very well at the grand slam pushing Nadal to four sets last year. He is loved in Paris and with this possibly one of the last ones he will ever play he will surely be motivated. Gasquet had a solid year so far with a 14-12 record and 8-6 on clay.
Recently he had a few bad defeats but most of that comes and goes with his motivation. Some of those defeats happened on the challenger Tour and he generally plays better against the best. In Paris he will be motivated so expect some good stuff from him.
Harris v Gasquet Prediction and Tip
This matchup sees Gasquet as the favourite in this one and there is a very good reason for that. The French player played better overall this season despite his peak not being as good as that of Harris. Roland Garros has faster clay courts than usually which should suit Harris and has in the past.
However, in this particular matchup, I just think Gasquet will have enough with the fans playing a factor as well. I expect him to produce a huge effort to take down the South African who has struggled so far this year. Gasquet has for more variety in his game and that should help him as well.
Tip: Gasquet to win in four sets: 10/3 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
