Ekaterina Alexandrova v Greet Minnen Head to Head

This season Ekaterina Alexandrova has grown as a clay court player. The 27-year-old didn’t have a great record on the surface in the previous years, with two third round appearances at the French Open being the highlight, but this year the Russian has been extremely solid on clay.
The World No. 31 heads to Roland Garros with a 10-4 season record on the surface and that includes semifinal appearances in Charleston and Madrid (her best-ever WTA 1000 result).
Alexandrova was beaten by Belinda Bencic in Charleston and by Ons Jabeur in Madrid, with both going on to win the respective tournaments.
In the most recent tournament in Rome, Alexandrova on her first round match against Sloane Stephens but lost to Maria Sakkari in the second round.
With 10 wins on the surface this year, Alexandrova will come into the tournament with a lot of confidence.

Form a Concern for Minnen
World no. 84 Greet Minnen has not won a match at the French Open in her two previous appearances. In fact she has won just three Grand Slam matches in her career, reaching the second round of the Australian Open in 2020and the third round at the U.S. Open last year.
The 24-year-old Belgian reached back-to-back ITF finals in February, winning in Germany and having to retire after the first set in Kazakhstan.
Since then Minnen has struggled to win matches, winning just one qualifying round match in Madrid and her Round of 32 match in WTA 250 Karlsruhe, while she has lost six.
Overall, Minnen is 13-9 this season from all levels.
