Alcaraz Hoping to Continue Form into Grass

It’s been the kind of season that makes fans and experts sit up and take notice. Alcaraz has looked, at multiple times during the year, he has arrived and could challenge some of the best players around the world.

That he won back to back titles in Barcelona and Madrid, at the expense of the likes of Pablo Carreno Busta, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev bears testimony to this fact.

And while he would have loved to do a lot more damage the quarterfinal appearance at Roland-Garros where he went down fighting to Zverev, Alcaraz has done enough make him a strong threat.

The question, however, is the potency of that threat on grass.

So far, there’s not enough evidence to point in any kind of direction with Alcaraz having played a sum total of a mere two grass court matches. The Spaniard had reached the second round of Wimbledon last year before falling to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets.

And having opted not to play any ATP matches on grass this season, it would be tough to know where exactly he stands. That said, he looks to have enough talent to scythe through his opponent here.

Struff 2-12 This Season

It’s been a horrendous season for Struff as he has slumped from one defeat to another all year, winning just two matches in the process.

The first win came as early as January this season, with Struff surprising John Isner but between then and now, his only other victory was on the grass court of his home tournament.

Struff, who was 8/5 to win his opener against Marcos Giron in Stuttgart, needed a third set tie-breaker to shock his opponent. Not surprisingly, the former world number 29 lost his next three matches – all on grass.

So coming into this encounter against one of the players to watch out for in the future, it would be of no shock if Struff struggles to get going yet again.

Alcaraz v Struff Prediction and Tip

Alcaraz might be playing at just his second Wimbledon and might have just one win on grass, but he should not have any difficulties in getting past his opponent here. Straight sets and all too.

Tip: Alcaraz to win in straight sets: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
