Barbora Krejcikova v Viktorija Golubic Head to Head
It’s 2-2 between the two players; they last met in Dubai in 2020 where Krejcikova won 6-1, 6-2.

Krejcikova Survives Zanevska
It wasn’t the smoothest of the starts for Barbora Krejcikova, who survived a stern showing from Maryna Zanevska with 7-6(4), 6-3. While the Czech did win 78% of the points behind the first serve, she ended up committing 25 unforced errors and hitting just 12 winners.
In some ways, Barbora benefited from Maryna’s sloppy play but she may not have that luxury when she faces Golubic.
The number 13 seed started the season on a brilliant note with deep runs in Sydney 500 and the Australian Open. She also became the World No. 2 – a career-best feat.
But this journey was short-lived – just two months into the year, she picked up an elbow injury that knocked her out of contention for the next leg.
Following her disappointing run in the Middle East swing, Krejcikova sat out most of the clay swing – sans the French Open where she fell to the then world number 97 Diane Perry in the first round. She next featured in Eastbourne and once again, succumbed to the upset bug when she lost to Marta Kostyuk in three sets.
As a result, she is now 9-6 so far and has dropped down to the 15th position. With no ranking points in play in London, Barbora is quite likely to stay there for some time.

Golubic Tames Petkovic
Viktorija Golubic enjoyed a superb start to her campaign in London as she beat Andrea Petkovic 6-4, 6-3 in 78 minutes. The Swiss was a lot more clinical in her match as she committed just 13 unforced errors to Petkovic’s 36.
Now ranked World No. 58, Viktorija’s preparations for the third major of the year were full of ups and downs. She fell in her first-round fixtures in Birmingham and Eastbourne – something which neatly captures the essence of her entire season.
That said, she did make it to the semifinal in Nottingham after moving past Emma Raducanu, Heather Watson, and Ajla Tomljanovic.
Except for a handful of tournaments where she won multiple matches – Indian Wells, Strasbourg and Strasbourg included, Golubic has had a horrid season on the whole which is dotted with early exits.
Her tally is now 14-16.
However, it is worth noting that the 29-year-old reached the quarterfinal here last season.
Krejcikova v Golubic Prediction and Tip
Krejcikova may be the favourite on paper owing to her superior pedigree but her lack of form gives Golubic an opening to capitalise. In fact, the Swiss has a good chance of carving this upset – but it may not be easy.
