Paula Badosa v Irina Bara Head to Head
It’s advantage Badosa with 2-0. They last met in Burnie 2019 where the Spaniard won in three sets. Since then, both players have gone on to have rather contrasting journeys in their careers.

Badosa Storms Past Chirico
It was a comfortable start for the fourth-seeded Spaniard Paula Badosa at the SW19, as she beat World No. 236 Louisa Chirico 6-2, 6-1 in under an hour. She got through with a superior first-service win rate and an inferior number of unforced errors.
Badosa has enjoyed a rather spectacular season that saw her become No. 2 for a short while although, her current place at the #4 spot is not too bad either.
That success translated into her present tally of 24-12 and includes deep runs across clay and hard courts. Her grass campaign, however, was not that convincing.
Paula played at the Eastbourne International and succumbed to Jodie Burrage in the opener in straight sets. With not that much practice, the 24-year-old will need to up her game quickly as she is likely to find herself facing Petra Kvitova and Simona Halep in the next matches.
This game against Bara may help her do just this.

Bara, a Clay Court Specialist
Irina Bara, now ranking World No. 122, has always been a clay-court specialist. The fact that her last tournament was the Valencia Challenger should serve as some backing, if not her entirety of 21 ITF finals on the surface.
She has never made it beyond the qualifiers at Wimbledon; this season she finds herself with a direct entry into the main draw.
As for Bara’s overall season, most of it has been spent on low-tier tournaments with a handful of deep runs to show for. On the doubles circuit, however, the Romanian did bag the doubles title in Marbella.
Badosa v Bara Prediction and Tip
At this point, Irina Bara doesn’t seem to be too big of a threat to upset someone of Badosa’s stature although, we have seen crazier upsets do gown.
This should end in another routine win for the Spaniard.
