Nick Kyrgios v Cristian Garin
Nick Kyrgios endured a very tricky affair against Brandon Nakashima but the Australian player was able to win that match in five sets. He dealt with some shoulder pain taking a few medical timeouts in the match but served without any issues.
It’s unclear what happened with him but after the match, he did not specify much. We’ll presume that he’s going to be able to play his best. When he’s on, he’s truly tricky to beat and he should be the huge favourite against Cristian Garin here. The Chilean produced a stunning comeback of his own against de Minaur but this is something else.
This will be Garin’s first grand slam quarterfinal and it’s on grass. He played rather well so far and his fighting spirit is the hallmark of his success here. It’s something that can give a lot of trouble to Kyrgios especially if the Aussie player starts becoming annoyed with it.
He should really aim to keep this a short affair and I think he will. This will depend on which version of Kyrgios will show up but if the good one does, Garin is trouble. They play contrasting styles of tennis but on grass, it’s the Aussie who is superior. Back him to get him done.
Tip: Kyrgios to win in four sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Rafael Nadal v Taylor Fritz
Rafael Nadal and Taylor Fritz played once this year and it was a clash where Fritz overcome multiple issues to win the match. It was his maiden ATP 1000 trophy and a stunning win. Both players were injured in that as Nadal had a cracked rib and Fritz had a busted ankle.
Now, we’ll see them square off on grass with both presumable healthy. Fritz has played a very strong event so far serving well and attacking well with his flat groundstrokes. He has a game that can trouble any player on the surface and it proved quite effective against Nadal in Indian Wells.
Nadal largely played a typical Nadal event. He started shaky but elevated his game as the event went on. Nowadays they are pretty close in level but Nadal will be very motivated for this one. I do think Fritz will give him some trouble. He’s quite similar to van de Zandschulp in playstyle but much better.
If he can keep up the consistent level, he can certainly give him trouble. I don’t think it will last for the entire match and I think Nadal will win it. Probably in four sets but I would not be shocked if he does it in three as well.
Tip: Nadal to win in four sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Simona Halep v Amanda Anisimova
Simona Halep and Amanda Anisimova both played well to get here but the level of Halep has been particularly impressive. The Romanian player is just enjoying her time back at Wimbledon and she has only positive memories from the last time she was here.
It was a winning run and now she wants to do it again. The draw cleared up nicely and she is certainly peaking with the last match against Badosa. Her opponent did well to reach this stage again but she had overall more trouble. The opposition was quite strong but Anisimova looks way more vulnerable on grass than on other surfaces.
They played three times so far and Halep is leading 2-1. The most recent one cam in Bad Homburg on grass literally a couple of days ahead of Wimbledon. Halep thrashed her opponent 6-2 6-1 and that tells you all you need to know about the matchup on grass.
I do expect Halep to win again but I don’t think it will be that easy. It’s Wimbledon and Anisimova will try harder but I find it very hard to believe she will win the match. Halep is too consistent and too good now. Back her to keep it in two.
Tip: Halep to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
