Oceane Dodin v Susan Bandecchi Head to Head
While the pair hasn’t faced off at the highest level, there have been a couple of meetings between them on the ITF circuit where Dodin has won both.

A semifinal at the Marbella Open and another such appearance at Strasbourg should have pleased Dodin but things otherwise haven’t been the best for the Frenchwoman.
In fact, Dodin enters this competition on the back of a five-match losing run, which began with that semifinal loss in Strasbourg and has continued long into the month on July.
A first round defeat at the French Open to Andrea Petkovic, another couple of opening losses on the grass courts of Nottingham and Wimbledon and then a Contrexeville Challenger loss to the little-known Erika Andreeva have all left Dodin with a lot of questions she needs quick answers to.
The good news for Dodin is her erratic performance has been followed by a couple of good shows here and there and she would hope the law of averages work their magic on her.

Bandecchi Struggling to Break Through
Having made her professional debut way back in 2013, it was only in 2019 that Bandecchi played her first match on the WTA circuit. Her career-best ranking on the singles circuit was 164th but having not had the best of seasons, she Bandecchi has fallen to 233rd in the world at the moment.
For someone who has never qualified to play in any of the Grand Slams, a first round win on the grass courts of the Gaiba Open would have sounded like an achievement. Especially given her very little experience on grass.
On clay, Bandecchi is yet to win a WTA main draw match this season, having featured in the qualifiers of just the two of them – in Rome and at Roland-Garros.
Playing at home, Bandecchi did earn herself a wildcard here but will that be enough to help her carve out a victory? The odds of 7/3 don’t seem to suggest so.
Dodin v Bandecchi Prediction and Tip
Dodin will hold the edge and should even win this but given her poor run of form there is every chance of Bandecchi making things slightly tricky for her.
