Dan Evans is expected to lead the men’s singles draw as the top seed and he will be joined by Americans Jenson Brooksby and Marcos Giron in the draw. The top four seeds will get a first round bye in a competition consisting of 28 players in the singles main draw.

Leylah Fernandez and Sloane Stephens have also been awarded wildcards to the tournament.

What Happened at the 2021 San Diego Open?
There was no women’s tournament held in San Diego in 2021. The men’s side saw Casper Ruud continue with his solid run for the season as he defeated Cameron Norrie in the final 6-0, 6-2 to win the title. This was Ruud’s fifth ATP title of the year.
Norrie had earlier stunned the top seeded Andrey Rublev while the second seeded Ruud overcame Grigor Dimitrov in their respective semifinals.
There was no women’s edition of the San Diego Open played in 2021 with the tournament kick-starting in 2022 for them.
