The 2022 edition of the Florence Open will be the first time a competition will be held in this city since 1994.
This tournament, also called the Firenze Open, is a part of the ATP 250 series on the ATP calendar for 2022, and will be hosted at the Palazzo Wanny in Florence, Italy. It will be one of the few indoor hardcourt tournaments to be played this season.
ATP introduced this event after a few of the tennis tournaments including those held in China had to be cancelled because of the ongoing pandemic.

The 2022 edition of Florence Open, which will be its first ever in a while kick-starts on Monday, October 10 with its first round matches.
The tournament will go on till Sunday, October 16 when the men’s singles final will be held while the qualification rounds for this 28-man main draw will be played on Saturday and Sunday preceding the first round.

The 2022 edition of the Florence Open is the first ever since 1994. At different points during its stint between 1973 and 1994, the Florence Open was played as a part of the Rothman’s Spring Mediterranean, the Grand Prix tennis circuit and the ATP Tour.
Tomas Muster had won this tournament between 1991-93 while Marcelo Filippini was its latest winner in 1994.
