Sebov Hasn’t Played a Lot at the Highest Level
As her ranking of 296th on the WTA charts suggests, Sebov hasn’t had a lot of top-level experience. In fact she has played just a handful of main draw matches on the WTA circuit including one last year and had lost that in straight sets.
Sebov had earlier also tried to make it through the qualifiers at this very competition but failed both times. This time she has won herself a wildcard, following a solid run on the ITF circuit.
This has helped the 23-year-old rise from her season low of 351st in the rankings to breaking into the top 300. In 2019, she had broken into the top 200 for a brief period when she made the quarterfinal at the Newport Beach Open in 2019.
