Yoshihito Nishioka v Benoit Paire

Nishioka had one of his best weeks in tennis last week in Washington reaching the final of the event. It was an impressive display of form from the Japanese who played a lot on North American hard courts early in the season and it paid off. Wins over Karen Khachanov, Dan Evans and Andrey Rublev are certainly impressive.

The exploit allowed him a sizeable jump in the rankings and that should allow him to compete for more points in the future as well. Paire on the other hand has not had a very good year but it’s been a little brighter lately. The Frenchman had a sudden rise last year during this part of the year and its kind of happening again.

Paire is taking advantage of the fast courts which allow him to unleash his pretty powerful serve and keep the points short. Playing in these conditions is more tolerable for him compared to other surfaces and it’s improving his mood and motivation to play. Despite all of that, this match won’t be on his racquet.

Nishioka has all the skills he needs to win this match and it will largely come down to how well he recovered from Washington and whether he can focus on this match. If he’s good in both those regards he should be looking at a comfortable win here.

Tip: Nishioka to win: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Nick Kyrgios v Sebastian Baez

Nick Kyrgios completed a clean sweep in Washington and it was not by chance. The Australian played excellent tennis continuing his tremendous season (27-7) and finally winning his first trophy of the year. It’s been a three-year drought and the Aussie admitted it meant a lot to him.

He looks to continue that superb form against a player whom he beat once this year. It happened at Indian Wells with Kyrgios winning 6-4 6-0. Pretty impressive and he’s in an even better shape right now. The biggest hurdle for Kyrgios will be fatigue after he played and won both the singles and doubles.

It remains to be seen how his body reacts but he’s been quite fragile in the past. Baez certainly won’t give him an easy match as the Argentine likes to attack and he’s improved quite a bit since the last time they met. The Argentine played in Washington as well but lost to Sebastian Korda 1-6 4-6.

Kyrgios is the overwhelming favourite here and he should be able to win it but we’ll need to see how his body reacts. I’ll back him to get it done in two sets but things might be iffy if he’s not feeling it.

Tip: Kyrgios to win in straight sets: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Coco Gauff v Madison Brengle

Coco Gauff played superbly early in San Jose but she ran into a very solid Paula Badosa who beat her in two sets. The problem for Gauff was her inability to finish off what she started, especially when leading. She was up a break on two separate occasions and failed to hold on to it.

The 2nd one was particularly disappointing as she served for the set. The tiebreak was won by Badosa but Gauff committed two consecutive double faults to go from 4-5 to 4-7. She lost the next set easily after falling apart. It was a classical example of her biggest weakness because she lost the match the moment she failed to serve out the set.

Now it’s time for some Toronto tennis and it will be her first time playing here. It should not be too much of an issue but Madison Brengle will certainly try to make it a complicated match. The American is very hard to play against because she keeps the ball in play for a long time.

That might frustrate Gauff and I think she’ll get caught up in it. I do expect her to win and advance but I also expect Brengle to make it longish.

Tip: Gauff to win AND Over 18.5 games in the match: 21/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
