Cameron Norrie v Felix Auger-Aliassime Head to Head

They played five times before with the most recent one coming last week in Los Cabos. All but the last one were won by Auger-Aliassime.

Norrie Hoping to Repeat Los Cabos Win

Cameron Norrie faced Felix Auger-Aliassime last week in Mexico and he was able to take the win in three sets. Los Cabos is Norrie’s comfort place as he won the event last year and played in the final this year. It’s simply where he does some of his best tennis but it was still a competitive match against Felix.

The Brit has improved a lot in the past two years and he’s in a very solid position to secure the ATP Finals. Good runs like here are the key to that and with a quarterfinal, looming Norrie will be ready for the challenge. It’s been a superb season so far with a 37-17 record and 18-8 on hard courts.

He was a college player so he’s quite familiar with all sorts of hard courts on this continent. So far in Montreal, he’s been playing really well. The serve is working, he’s covering the court really well and players don’t know how to counter him.

His final match was against van de Zandschulp and he demolished him 6-1 6-2. I do expect him to keep playing well and I do think he’ll rise to the occasion once more.

Auger-Aliassime’s Good Start at Home

Felix Auger-Aliassime returned with a win to Montreal, a city which he called home for the majority of his life. Being back home is something important for Auger because he rarely gets a chance to play on native soil, let alone in the city he was born and grew up.

The match against Nishioka saw a very sturdy Felix do what he needed to in order to win the match but it was not some superb display. Nishioka is in form and the Japanese player gave Felix some trouble at times. Both sets were quite competitive and I expect that to continue against Norrie.

Felix has had a very good season so far with 34 wins and 19 defeats and he reached the semi-finals last week in Los Cabos. Cameron Norrie beat him there but it was a match that Felix could have won.

He will try to get his revenge here although it will be a bit tricky. The key will be the serve and hopefully, he can deal with some of the pressure because he will be favoured. Not only favoured but also expected to win this match. Pressure has been an issue for him in the past.

Norrie v Auger-Aliassime Prediction and Tip

This is a very good matchup between two players who can hurt each other in various ways. The key to victory for Felix is to serve well and be consistent. If those things happen he should be good to go. For Norrie, it’s quite similar but he needs to force Felix into odd positions on the court.

If he can bait many errors from Felix and hold his serve he’ll be good. I do think this is going to three sets and I do think it will be really close but I think Norrie takes it.

Tip: Norrie to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
