Tommy Paul v Daniel Evans Head to Head
This will be their first tour-level meeting. Evans had won their only meeting at a qualifying round in 2018.

Paul Powers Past Cilic
After a stunning upset of the second seed Carlos Alcaraz in the second round on Wednesday, World no. 34 Tommy Paul marched into the quarterfinals with a straight sets win over Marin Cilic in the third round on Thursday.
Broken in his very first service game in the match, Paul made a strong return, breaking the Croatian twice to take the opening set.
He was in complete control of the second set until the final game, where he saved four break points before ousting the World No. 16, 6-4, 6-2.
It turned out to be a straight forward win for Paul following the three hour and 21 minute second round clash against World no. 4 Alcaraz on Wednesday. Paul saved a match point in the second set tiebreak before going on to beat the second seed 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (9-7) 6-3.
The 25-year-old American had won his opening round match against Canadian wild card Vasek Pospisil 6-4, 6-4.
With the win, Paul is now 28-19 this season. He will be featuring in an eighth quarterfinal of the season on Friday, but has gone past the last eight just once, in Delray Beach, where he was a semifinalist. Can he reach the last four for a second time this year?

Evans Edges Past Fritz
Daniel Evans moved into the third quarterfinal of the year after he defeated Taylor Fritz in a three-set contest on Thursday.
This was the second time in two weeks that Evans has beaten the World no. 13. In Washington last week, Evans had come back from a set down and was leading the third set 4-1 when an exhausted Fritz retired from the contest.
This time, the match didn’t end abruptly as Evans beat the American 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 7-5 in two hours and 44 minutes.
The Briton saved 12 of 17 break points and converted 3 of 9, winning the key moments in the contest. The 32-year-old, who improved his season record to 17-16 with the win, had begun his Canadian Open challenge with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 victory over Filip Krajinovic. He then upset fifth seed Andrey Rublev 6-4, 6-4 in the second round.
This is the third tour-level quarterfinal for Evans this year and a second in two weeks after his run to the last eight in Washington. His best performance on the tour this year was a semifinal finish in Sydney, while he also won a Challenger title in Nottingham.
Paul v Evans Prediction and Tip
