Emma Raducanu v Serena Williams Head to Head

She had won the US Open title last year but Raducanu’s form in the US Open Series this season has been in line with the struggles she has faced all of this year.
Of the 23 matches Raducanu has played this season, she has won a mere 10, and in just three of those tournaments has she even managed successive victories.
One of those three came at the Washington Open two weeks ago where Raducanu reached the quarterfinals but has followed that up with successive defeats. First she went down to Ludmilla Samsonova in the last eight stage in Washington, and then fell to an opening defeat at the hands of Camila Giorgi in Toronto at the Canadian Open.
What Raducanu will hope is she can play a stronger part in what could be one of the last tournaments Serena Williams plays and even disrupts the party.

Two-Time Winner Serena Hoping to Make it Count
Since she announced her impending retirement, all the talk around Serena has been related to the same. Unfortunately for Serena that hasn’t quite helped her game as she went down in straight sets in the second round of the Canadian Open last week.
Serena, who had defeated Nuria Parrizas-Diaz in straight sets in her opener there, lost to Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-4 in the second.
Earlier in her only singles match of the season, Serena had fallen to Harmony Tan in the first round at Wimbledon as well.
Interestingly, she now faces an opponent who is 21 years her junior and in a match that could well be their last meeting (unless by some dint of fate they are drawn to face off yet again at the US Open).

It’s interesting to note that despite Raducanu’s underwhelming record for the season, she starts off a bookmakers’ favourite at 7/10. Serena did look like she had the game to usurp Parrizas-Diaz last week and could edge Raducanu out with some luck.
