Tommy Paul v Sebastian Korda Head to Head
This is an interesting rivalry with three matches having been played and Korda winning every single one of them.
Interestingly, all three matches came last year and two of them have been on hard court surface.

Paul Stretched to Five by Zapata Miralles
Paul was a 3/25 favourite going into his first round match against Bernabe Zapata Miralles and was expected to ease his way through to the second. Instead, he was on court for three hours and 13 minutes and needed five sets to get past his opponent in a match that could have gone either way till the very end.
In the end, Paul shrugged off a 2-1 set deficit to win 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 6-0, 7-5, with two serves of breaks distinguishing the two players.
A solitary break in the opening set for Zapata Miralles and one back for Paul in the second took it to a set apiece. The American then broke his opponent to go 2-0 up but what followed was a bizarre chain of events.
Zapata Miralles broke his opponent three times in a row to win the third from there on and Paul retaliated with three breaks of his own to get to two sets apiece.
In the final set, things went on serve till 4-4 before Paul got an opportunity to serve it out twice – at 5-4 and 6-5. He took the second one, much to the relief of his camp.

Korda Needs Four against Bagnis
After a couple of solid performances at the Washington Open and Cincinnati Masters, Korda began his US Open campaign with a four-set win over Facundo Bagnis.
The match lasted three hours and 17 minutes, and could have seen a different result had it not been for some prolificacy from Bagnis.
Bagnis, who had won the first set, was up a break of serve on two separate occasions to go 2-0 up but Korda broke right back both times. And from there on, kept chipping away to win the encounter 5-7, 7-6 (3), 7-5, 6-1 and move into the second.
Rather interestingly, this was Korda’s first ever win at the US Open and he would now like to celebrate that by making it two victories in a row.

Interestingly, despite the difference in their rankings, Korda starts a slightly favourite at 8/11. Backing Paul here though given there’s not much between the duo as far as their form goes.
