Andrey Rublev v Frances Tiafoe Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and both have won one apiece.
The first of these came at the 2021 US Open, in the third round and it was Tiafoe who had come away a winner in five sets. Rublev had his revenge in Indian Wells earlier this season.

After his performance at Wimbledon where Cameron Norrie was a semifinalist, he would have had the reason to believe he had a chance to go as far as if not farther than that. Rublev had other ideas though.
The Russian, who has otherwise been struggling to get going, carved out Norrie in straight sets, dishing out a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory over the Brit in two hours and six minutes to reach his US Open quarterfinal.
Rublev needed just one break of serve in each of the first two sets to scoop them up, and while he was broken back in the third, a late second break ensured the result was going just one way.
This, after a fighting win over Denis Shapovalov in the third round and a struggle against Laslo Djere in his opener should brighten Rublev’s chances here. He still starts a second favourite in this encounter with bet365 offering 11/10 to win this.

Tiafoe Sends Nadal on his Way
Tiafoe had made it to only one Grand Slam quarterfinal in the past and facing Rafael Nadal in his fourth round match, it looked like that second such appearance would have to wait till at least next year’s Australian Open.
Three hours and 31 minutes later, Tiafoe had overcome Nadal in four sets to become the third American after John Isner and Andy Roddick to reach the US Open quarterfinals since 2006.
The American looked to have surprised himself too, as he admitted after the match “I can’t believe it” and “I really don’t know what happened.”
Tiafoe had earlier won three successive rounds in straight sets, overcoming Marcos Giron, Jason Kubler and Diego Schwartzman but this was expected to be a different kettle of fish. And he came out trumps.
