Thiago Monteiro v Pablo Andujar-Alba Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between the 28 year old Brazilian, and the Spaniard, who is eight years old.

Monteiro, who has been the Brazilian number one for some time now, reached a career high singles ranking last month, after winning a Challenger tournament in Salzburg, the seventh of his career.
By the time he meets Andujar-Alba he might have added to that tally, because he is due to play Andrea Pellegrino of Italy in the final in Gena.
Like his opponent on Monday, he is a clay court specialist, and all 13 (including Sunday’s) of his Challenger finals have been played on that surface.
However, he reached the second round of the US Open last month, and prior to that, was a quarter-finalist in Winston Salem

Spanish Clay Court veteran Andujar-Alba
Andujar Alba is now at the veteran stage of a long career, that has seen him appear in 9 senior finals, all of them on clay. Four of them resulted in victories, although the most recent of those was back in 2018 in Morocco.
He did begin the year well, reaching the third round of the Australian Open for the first time, but his best result of the year was making the quarter-finals in Rio a month later, almost inevitably on clay.
This year he skipped the US Open and remained in Europe instead, with his most recent appearance coming in the Genoa Challenger tournament in Genoa, Italy. He lost in the second round to the Italian, Pellegrino, Monteiro’s opponent in the final.
Monteiro v Andujar-Alba Prediction and Tip
Given his greater adaptability away from clay, Monteiro will start favourite for this match, unless he suffers any adverse reaction to having to travel from Italy, where he is involved in a Challenger final on Sunday.
