Arthur Rinderknech v Constant Lestienne Head to Head

While these two players have never faced off at the highest level, they did play on the Challenger circuit on two separate occasions since the start of the 2021 season. It’s 1-1 on head to head with Lestienne defeating Rinderknech in three sets in the recent title-decider in Vancouver.

Rinderknech Tames Taberner in Opener

In a match lasting only an hour and 25 minutes, Rinderknech was a straight-set winner over Carlos Taberner to move into the second round.

Rinderknech won 6-3, 6-3 after hammering 13 aces and winning 93% of his first serve points, even as his opponent failed to gain even one break-point in the entire match.

On the other hand, Rinderknech broke Taberner three times from the eight opportunities he got to ease his way through to the round of 16.

This follows a solid display of tennis from Rinderknech in Tel Aviv about a week ago where he stunned Diego Schwartzman on his way to the quarterfinal. Earlier he was a quarterfinalist in Metz as well and will now be looking to make it three in a row.

Lestienne Edges Past Injured Baez

While Sebastian Baez retired from his opening round match against Lestienne, it wasn’t before the latter had already won the first set. In what turned out to be a fighting encounter before the Baez injury, Lestienne was on court for an hour and 56 minutes to go past his opponent.

Lestienne was 7-6 (5), 4-4 up when Baez called it quits leaving him a win away from making it through to his third quarterfinal in a row as well.

Having entered the last eight stage at San Diego in the third week of September, a confident Lestienne then went a step further in Tel Aviv where he made it to the semifinal.

All of this wins, over Adrian Mannarino, Emil Ruusuvuori and Maxime Cressy, came when he was a second-favourite by some distance.

Up against a player who is also looking to make it three successive quarterfinals in a row, can Lestienne pip Rinderknech to the post?

Rinderknech v Lestienne Prediction and Tip
