Martina Trevisan v Katerina Siniakova Head to Head
Siniakova won their only meeting in Portoroz earlier this year.

Trevisan Dispatches Hibino
Martina Trevisan needed just an hour and 18 minutes to send Japan’s Nao Hibino packing in the first round.
The World no. 28, who had come to Guadalajara with a 2-7 record from her last seven tournaments, couldn’t close out the first set after building a 5-2 lead, but got a second break in the final game to seal the opening set.
She was comfortably placed in the second set as well, after racing to a 4-0 lead but a determined Hibino got both the breaks back.
However, the Italian once again had the last laugh as she broke for a third time in the eighth game and then served out the match for a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
It was a rare hard court win for the 2022 French Open semifinalist, who also won the Rabat Open title this year.
Trevisan is 10-11 on hard courts, across levels, this year. But overall she improved her season record to 25-20.

Siniakova Knocks Out 11th Seed Haddad Maia
Katerina Siniakova got off to a strong start as the Czech player knocked out 11th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia in the first round on Tuesday.
Off to a 2-0 start, Siniakova saw the Brazilian come back over the next two games, but a second break late in the opening set put the Czech in the driving seat and she served out the set in the next game to draw first blood.
Having finished the first set by winning three consecutive games, Siniakova started the second by taking the first four games. Haddad Maia did get on the board by hold two serves, but she couldn’t win a return game in the second as Siniakova overpowered the World no. 18, 7-5, 6-2.
The World no. 54 was quiet through most parts of the season, but is finishing the year strongly. Last month, she defeated Elena Rybakina to win the Slovenia Open title.
It was the third singles title of her career and a first since 2017.
The World no. 1 doubles player has won six doubles titles this year, including three Grand Slams. And while she blossomed in doubles, she struggled in singles and a 17-18 record on the tour indicates that. But she has found form late in the season and after beating the 11th seed will be hungry to get more wins in the tournament.
Trevisan v Siniakova Prediction and Tip
Trevisan is the higher ranked player, but she has found little success on hard courts. Siniakova is the better player on the surface and so she is the favourite in this contest. She is also in good form and had knocked out Trevisan with ease in Portoroz last month.
