Stefanos Tsitsipas v Damir Dzumhur Head to Head
In their three encounters on the ATP Tour so far, Dzumhur has won two of them and currently leads 2-1 in the head to head tally. Both of them each got a win over each other in 2018, with Dzumhur being the one who got the last laugh.
They met in the Paris Masters last year, where the World No. 56 defeated Tsitsipas in straight sets. He then travelled to Melbourne where he lost to Gael
Dzumhur Seeking his First Win of the Season
The 26-year-old is still seeking his first singles win of the 2019 ATP Season. In the three competitions he has played in so far – including the Davis Cup, he has lost all of his opening matches. However, in his defence, a couple of them were highly difficult to win.
In Doha, he met Novak Djokovic where the result was an unsurprising straight-set defeat. He then travelled to the Australian Open, where he lost to Gael Monfils in straight sets – two of which were bagels.
Dzumhur ended the previous season with a win-loss tally of 25-31 and one title. He won the tournament in Antalya after defeating Adrian Mannarino in the final. Apart from this, he was also the semifinalist in Los Cabos.
Tsitsipas Enjoying the Season
The 20-year-old Greek is roaring with confidence at the moment. He recently became the World No. 12 – his single best ranking yet, following his brilliant run in the Australian Open.
In Melbourne, he sent a clear message to the tour that he is a force to be reckoned with. Tsitsipas defeated Roger Federer and Roberto Bautista Agut on route to the semifinal, where he lost to Rafael Nadal.
Last week, however, he lost to Monfils in the Sofia Open in the quarterfinal. Nonetheless, his form and style of playing make him one of the favourites in Rotterdam. In the season behind us, he was the runner-up in Barcelona and Rogers Cup, and also won the Stockholm Open.
