Stefanos Tsitsipas v Borna Coric Head to Head
Coric leads the rivalry 2-1. Tsitsipas won their first meeting in Rome in 2018, only after Coric had retired early from the match.
Coric won the next two matches, one was a five-setter at the U.S. Open and the other was in the final of the Cincinnati Open this year, which handed him his first ATP 1000 title.

Tsitsipas Overcomes Novak
Stefanos Tsitsipas was under a bit of pressure early in the first set of his opening round encounter in Vienna against Dennis Novak, but he settled into the contest as the match progressed and finished well to advance with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 victory.
The Greek, who missed out on three break points in the second game of the match, was broken by the Austrian in the seventh game. He immediately responded by breaking back in the next game and then never looked back in the contest, dominating the first-set tiebreak and then running away with the match in the second set.
Tsitsipas struck 8 aces and 27 winners, while making just 6 unforced errors in the match. He was got 72% of his first serve right and won 82% points on the first delivery.
Tsitsipas has been a consistent performer this year and Wednesday’s win improved him to 57-20. He was a finalist in the previous two tournaments in Astana and Stockholm and has featured in a total of seven finals in 2022. While he finished runner-up in five of them, a title defence in Monte-Carlo and a triumph in Mallorca took his tally to nine career titles from 24 finals.
Chasing a third consecutive final, he has made a solid start. Now can he overcome a player who has had the better of him in the previous meetings?

Coric Rallies Past Halys
World no. 27 Borna Coric fought back from a set down to defeat France’s Quentin Halys in the opening round on Monday.
The 25-year-old Croatian conceded an early break in the match and never recovered in the set allowing the Frenchman to take a one-set-to-love lead. He bounced back in the second set though. After missing out on two set points in the 10th game, he converted a third opportunity in the 12th to tie the match at one-set apiece.
There was just one more break in the third set as well and that went Coric’s way who won the two hour and five minute opener 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.
The 25-year-old, who was hit by poor form, injury and a subsequent surgery over the last couple of years, has made a strong comeback this year, delivering his best performance in Cincinnati, where he beat Rafael Nadal and Tsitsipas on his way to a maiden ATP 1000 title.
A three-time tour-level champion from eight finals, Coric is 12-3 since the start of the Cincinnati Open and that includes a run to the last eight in Tokyo. Can he extend his dominance over the Greek?
Tsitsipas v Coric Prediction and Tip
Coric goes into this contest with the psychological edge over Tsitsipas, who has never beaten the Croatian in a completed match. Although Tsitsipas is in better form, the fact that the Croatian outplayed him in Cincinnati may make him a bit nervous. But given the quality of the Greek star, he should be able to hold his nerves and edge past the world no. 27 on Thursday.
Tip: Tsitsipas to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
