Elina Svitolina v Karolina Muchova Head to Head

This will be the first time that the two ladies are going to play each other on the WTA Tour.

Muchova’s Best Run of the Season

The 22-year-old Czech, who spent most of her present season trying to move past the qualifying rounds, has finally found some success in Doha over the course of the week.

After qualifying for the main draw, she defeated Samantha Stosur with 6-4, 6-2 in her opening match. She then met Su-Wei Hsieh and defeated her with a very similar result. With two back to back wins in the main draw, Muchova has now delivered one of the best results of her career.

Last year, she spent most of her time on the ITF circuit where she reached the penultimate rounds on many occasions. She also played in the Grand Slams and at the US Open, she reached the third round as a qualifier.

Svitolina Looking for her First Major Win

The World No. 7 arrived in Doha earlier this week after a brilliant performance in the Australian Open. In Melbourne, she made it as far as the quarterfinal where she lost to the eventual champion Naomi Osaka in straight sets.

Before that, Svitolina appeared in the WTA Brisbane where she was handed a shock defeat by Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the opening round.

The 24-year-old Ukranian was highly clinical in the previous season. After successfully defending her titles at the Dubai Championships and Italian Open, she found herself qualified for the WTA Finals Singapore.

Needless to mention, Svitolina won that tournament making it the most prestigious title she has won till date. The Ukranian is now seeking the same rhythm for this season and admittedly, she hasn’t found much success yet.

Nonetheless, she started off well in Doha after defeating Jelena Ostapenko in the opening round in straight sets.

Svitolina v Muchova Predictions & Tips

Elina Svitolina will be expected to win this match without losing a set. For this, bet365 are offering 8/11. The Ukranian has been in a decent form when compared to Muchova although, she cannot let her guard down against her unseeded Czech opponent.

You can watch & bet on Elina Svitolina v Karolina Muchova on Thursday, February 14. The match will be held at around 3:30 pm local time.
