Stefanos Tsitsipas v Corentin Moutet Head to Head

Their only previous meeting at the highest level came at the 2018 Barcelona Open where Tsitsipas had won that first round match in straight sets.

Tsitsipas Eases Past Evans

It was always going pointing to a Tsitsipas win but the fact that the Greek number one cruised to a straight-set victory against Dan Evans in just an hour and 21 minutes spoke volumes about his confidence.

Having come into the competition on the back of a couple of finals appearances in Astana and Stockholm but after suffering a second round loss in Vienna, Tsitispas registered a 6-3, 6-4 win over Evans in a potentially banana-peel of an encounter.

Tsitsipas hammered eight aces and faced – and saved – one break-point in the match to come up a winner as he also broke Evans once in each of the two sets. And while the Greek player did miss out on five other break-point opportunities he was never put under any kind of pressure throughout the match.

So much so, he won nearly 80% of his first serve points and 67% of the second serves.

With that kind of force behind his serving, Tsitsipas could prove to be a handful for a few players including his 64th-ranked opponent here in round three.

Moutet Stuns Norrie in Round Two

Moutet had never made it to the third round at his home Masters 1000 tournament before this and to do that, he needed to get past the world number 13 Cameron Norrie.

And while Moutet needed three sets to get past Norrie, there was no doubting his stodginess as he got stuck into his opponent to carve out a 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (3) win.

In a match lasting nearly three hours, Moutet gave no signs of giving up as he converted his second match-point to clinch the victory.

This came after Moutet had needed a couple of qualifying wins to get to the main draw before needing a three-setter against Borna Coric in his opener.

Can the Frenchman, who has currently moved to a career-best ranking of 51st in the world, trouble the world number five?

Tsitsipas v Moutet Prediction and Tip

Tsitsipas will be a favourite but with the ATP Finals to focus on, the question will be that of motivation. The best way to look at it for the Greek player is he has never won a hard court Masters 1000 title and this will be a good time to go the distance.

Tip: Tsitsipas to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
