Our WTA Adelaide International 1 2023 Predictions & Picks
With a stacked field, the tournament is one of the most unpredictable in this early stage of the season. Ons Jabeur has emerged as the outright favorite, but she has a treacherous draw. She might have to take down the likes of Elena Rybakina and Anett Kontaveit en route to the final, where the second seed Aryna Sabalenka could be lurking. At 5/1 the Tunisian trailblazer is slightly low-priced given the circumstances but should be backed to get her season off to a winning start.
China’s Qinwen Zheng is a name that really stands out here. But her opening three matches could look something like this: Kontaveit, Azarenka, and Daria Kasatkina. She remains a dark horse at 14/1, but highly unlikely she will add a second career title in Adelaide.
Aryna Sabalenka has a bye in the first round, but could have her hands full in a potentially complicated second-rounder against Ludmilla Samsonova. The winner of that match might have a less rocky path to the final, which is why both are priced at almost even odds (7/1) to clinch the title.
Women’s singles winner: Ons Jabeur: 5/1
