Stefanos Tsitsipas v Matteo Berrettini Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two players before this and Tsitsipas has won every single time. One of them came in the qualifiers of the 2017 US Open following which they met again at the 2019 Australian Open and 2021 Rome Masters.
There was another match that was to be played at the 2021 Australian Open but Berrettini withdrew from it because of an injury.

Tsitsipas Scrapes Past Coric
It wasn’t expected to be the easiest contest for Tsitsipas but in the end, he came through in a crucial contest against Borna Coric to help Greece come through in their tie against Croatia.
Tsitsipas was on court for more than two and a half hours despite losing his serve just once in the entire contest, before scraping through to a win.
The Greek number one slammed 20 aces and won 75% of the first serve points but that did not prevent Coric from making a match out of it.
Despite winning the first set 6-0 and then having a couple of match-points in the second, Tsitsipas was stretched to a third set. And when he then fell 4-2 behind, it looked like the writing was on the wall.
Tsitsipas fought back from there though, breaking Coric back in the seventh game and then again in the 11th to carve out the win.
He had earlier gotten the better of Grigor Dimitrov and David Goffin in the group stages.

Berrettini Makes it Three in Three Too
Like Greece, Italy’s chances in this tournament revolve around Berrettini’s performances and while his team did not win their tie against Poland in the Host City Final, the world number 16 made it three victories in a row for himself.
Berrettini overcame Hubert Hurkacz in three sets in his last match, after having sent Thiago Monteiro out and shocked Casper Ruud in the group stages of this competition.
In a match lasting nearly two hours, Berrettini managed a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win over Hurkacz, with the Italian’s ability to win 64% of his second serve points helping him through.
Against Tsitsipas, Berrettini will need to continue to maintain those kind of statistics, and then pounce on his opponent’s serve when given an inch.
