Who is Playing at This Year’s 2023 ATP Adelaide International 2?
With the Australian Open just around the corner, the stars of the ATP Tour are being considerate of their schedule, focusing on training and fitness patterns instead of playing.
However, the 2023 Adelaide International 2 is not short of star power. Three Top 20 players have confirmed their participation at the Memorial Drive Park, with World No. 8 Andrey Rublev the biggest name in the draw.
Nick Kyrgios has not recovered from the ankle injury that ruled him out from the United Cup, and has been replaced by fit-again Kyle Edmund.
It will be a 28-man field, just as last year, with eight seeds. Four players will earn their places from qualifying, while three wild cards will also be determined just before qualifying starts. One spot will be given under a special exemption criterion.

Our 2023 Adelaide International 2 Predictions & Picks
The opening tournaments of the ATP season are where the top names can be caught cold. And actually, not many Top 10 players are playing these events, especially a week before the first Grand Slam of the season.
So do not entirely be surprised when an unseeded player makes it to the deep end. In fact, last year a wild card won the Adelaide International 2, when Thanasi Kokkinakis defeated Arthur Rinderknech.
While we cannot rule out a similar story from repeating itself, it is quite a stacked field this time, which is very open. Andrey Rublev, for instance, is the top seed and is looking to atone for his disappointing showing in Adelaide 1. He is the tournament favorite and certainly has our backing.
Jack Draper did not have a productive start either and could have a point to prove this week. He is definitely a name the top eight seeds will want to avoid right off the bat.
Pablo Carreno Busta hasn’t had any matches in 2023 so far and could fall prey early on. The same could be said of Dan Evans who has actually played matches at the United Cup but could run out of fumes this week.
