Our ASB Classic 2023 Predictions & Picks

There will be 10 Top-50 players in the draw, which will undoubtedly translate to a handful of intense matches. Top seed Casper Ruud has won nine ATP titles in his career and all of them at 250 level. So clearly, the Norwegian is a player who will likely excel when pitted against the 28-man field this week.

Another name to keep an eye on is that of 2020 champion Ugo Humbert.

Granted Humbert only got here via a wild card, he has been a rejuvenated player. His second half of 2022 was decent. He won a Challenger title and picked up some high-quality wins to close out his season. Humbert also re-entered the world’s Top 100, so do not be surprised if he gets into his groove.

Second seed Cameron Norrie is coming off one the best wins of his career at the United Cup.

Norrie defeated 22-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal and also pulled off a scintillating win over Taylor Fritz. He reached the final back in 2019 losing to Tennys Sandgren, so the Briton might feel he has unfinished work in Auckland.
