Lorenzo Sonego v Jack Draper Head to Head
The only previous meeting between these two players came at the Madrid Masters last season where Draper won in straight sets on clay.

Sonego looked to have given a good account of himself in his first round match at the Adelaide International against Daniil Medvedev. Unfortunately for him, his fitness gave way and he had to retire from that opener.
At that stage Medvedev had won the first set in a tie-breaker and followed it up with a leading Sonego 2-1.
The good news for Sonego is that the injury doesn’t seem to be a serious one with only his arm having cramped up in the second set, making it unfit for him to continue. On the other hand, Sonego will hope this doesn’t repeat given the kind of heat expected in the Australian Open as well.

Draper Ousted in Second Round in Adelaide
Having played at the Adelaide International last week too, Draper looked to have made a good start but then fell away very quickly in the second round.
The Brit, ranked 42nd in the world, crushed Soon-woo Kwon in the opener and even went into the second round as a heavy favourite against Karen Khachanov. Khachanov, however, used all of his experience to carve out a 6-4, 6-2 win over Draper, relegating him to a surprise early loss.
Draper has had a season to remember, however, in 2022.
The Next Gen semifinalist also won four Challenger titles, was a semifinalist at Eastbourne and then dished out his career-best showing at the Montreal Masters where he was the quarterfinalist after starting out as a qualifier.
