Maria Sakkari v Diana Shnaider Head to Head
Sakkari and Shnaider have never faced off in a competitive match before this.

Sakkari Sends Yuan Packing
Yue Yuan is coming of age in recent times, having made the third round at US Open last year and while she hadn’t had the best of starts this season, a lot was expected of her in her opener against Sakkari.
She did show glimpses of what she might have done had Sakkari not run away with the first set but it was a case of too little, too late. Sakkari won 6-1, 6-4 in an hour and 35 minutes to reach the second round at the Australian Open, but not before her service had been broken in the second set.
The first set was a cakewalk for Sakkari but Yuan raced to a 3-1 lead in the second set to bring the possibility of parity in the contest. Sakkari was having none of it as she broke back for starters and while she missed out on three break-points in eighth game, three more followed in the 10th.
Sakkari converted the third of those and cemented her place in round two where she faces another unheralded player.

Shnaider Gives Kucova No Respite
Kristina Kucova was once ranked 71st in the world but her recent form and fitness have pulled her down and she is now 272nd in the world. Which is why despite playing a qualifier in Shnaider, she was a 3/1 outsider going into the encounter.
And that’s exactly how it turned out but not before Shnaider was stretched to an hour and 53 minutes in their opener.
Shnaider won 7-6 (6), 7-5 after having saved a set-point in each of the two sets.
The Russian 18-year-old had earlier crashed out of the Auckland Open qualifier to Jacqueline Cristian but carrying on from her junior Australian Open doubles triumph last season, she won three qualifying rounds here before packing Kucova off in the opener.
Can she put up some fight against Sakkari?
Sakkari v Shnaider Prediction and Tip
Sakkari, unsurprisingly, is a 1/8 favourite to win and we have to call for a straight-set win here. Less than 19.5 games we believe.
Tips:

- Moderate Risk Tip: Under 19.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with 888Sport)
