Lloyd Harris v Marton Fucsovics Head to Head

They played plenty of times against each other and Fucsovics leads 3-2.

Harris Survives Musetti Thriller

Lloyd Harris was able to survive a very tricky clash against Lorenzo Musetti where he almost threw away 2-0 lead. The South African was up 2-0 when the Italian started his comeback but he came up short in the end.

The decision happened in the final when Harris outplayed the Italian in a match tiebreak and it was just a fascinating matchup that lasted almost four hours. He’s definitely going to feel that one in the second round but he caught a lucky break.

Harris served pretty well and his forehand was doing most of the heavy lifting. 17 aces and 55 winners albeit also 52 unforced errors. Those numbers are fine but he will need to be a bit more sharper against Fucsovics because the conditions suit him far better than Musetti.

If Harris isn’t careful he might find himself on the losing side of this one. He’s trailing 2-3 in the H2H matchup as well.

Fucsovics Wins 5-set Marathon

Nobody was surprised by Fucsovics beating Coria but him taking 5 sets to do so certainly surprised many. This 5-setter lasted over four hours and it saw Fucsovics win the final set 6-2.

The Hungarian player hasn’t been playing his best tennis for over a year but slowly he’s making a comeback after some injuries. He’s 6-1 this year and it’s been a good start for him but taking 5 sets to beat Coria clearly shows that there are some issues there.

He plays very similarly to Harris as they both have flat shots and a solid serve. Harris is far more streaky but Fucsovics has more variety in his game. That will be quite important in this matchup because trading blows with Harris will become tiresome after a while.

He will also have to show his fitness by staying ready after playing 4+ hours in the previous round.

Harris v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip

This is a pretty close matchup and very tricky to call. I don’t see either winning in three and I would not be surprised by four sets. Who recovers better will certainly have an edge as well.
