Djokovic Shrugs off Hamstring Issue to Dismiss Dimitrov
It would be fair to say Dimitrov wasn’t at his fittest in his third round encounter against Grigor Dimitrov. His hamstring needed attention and there were multiple occasions, especially in the first set that he was in a lot of strife.
It was a match filled with rallies and longish games, all an attempt by Dimitrov to get Djokovic to move that hamstring but the 21-time Grand Slam broke his pain barrier and continued on.
Djokovic did miss out on three set-points at 5-3 in the opening set and another one in the tie-breaker before pouching the set. From there on, while Dimitrov did his best to make things difficult, he never came close to challenging his opponent.
In the third, and what turned out to the final set, Djokovic went up two breaks and would later lose his serve twice too but came through 7-6 (7), 6-3, 6-4 to keep his hunt for title number 10 alive.
Can he get fit in time for this fourth round encounter against a player who can be expected to have a lot of home crowd cheering for him?

de Minaur Routs Bonzi to Make Round Four Again
De Minaur had made as far as the fourth round of this tournament last season and here he is again, trying to do a one better. Except, this time he has the master of Australian Open, Djokovic on the other side of the net.
So far, de Minaur hasn’t had much of a challenge coming his way either.
It started with the Aussie facing the 209th-ranked Yu Hsiou Hsu in his opener, and then getting past Adrian Mannarino, the 45th-ranked player from France in four sets. And in the third, de Minaur blew Benjamin Bonzi away with a 7-6 (0), 6-2, 6-1 victory.
The match lasted a mere two hours and 10 minutes, but what was interesting to note was de Minaur earned himself 22 break-points of which he converted seven.
Twice in the first set de Minaur got himself ahead with a break but was broken back soon after. It was only in the tie-breaker that the world number 24 established complete supremacy and then finished it off over the next two.
Can he now make Djokovic sweat a tad more for his title?
Djokovic v de Minaur Prediction and Tips
Assuming Djokovic isn’t at his fittest, he would still be a heavy favourite and by some distance. The question is if he can make it through in three sets or will he drop one. We expect the home support to play a part and de Minaur to come into the contest at some point.
