Botic van de Zandschulp v Alexandre Muller Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first time the 27 year old Dutchman, and the Frenchman, who is a year younger, have met.

Van de Zandschulp Advances Past Ivashka
Dutch number one Van de Zandschulp has yet to win an event on the senior tour, although he was runner-up to Holger Rune in Bavaria last year, and, with compatriot Tallon Griekspoor, claimed the doubles’ title in October at the European Open in Antwerp.
He has yet to scale the heights in 2023, with his quarter-final in Pune in his season opener, the best he has managed.
Since then, there have been second round appearances at the Australian Open and on home soil in Rotterdam last week.
He has, at least, emulated that achievement in Doha, by beating Ilya Ivashka, the world number 79, in straight sets.
The Dutch player began strongly, breaking Ivashka in the first game of the match. Break point opportunities came and went for both men, but it was van de Zandschulp who was able to consolidate his position with a further break.
When the eighth seed broke early in the second set, it looked like he was in for a trouble free afternoon. But Ivashka broke back twice and had the chance to serve for the set, only to be broken in turn.
When Ivashka dropped his serve again, van de Zandschulp was given the chance to save for the match, an opportunity he was not about to spurn.

Qualifier Muller Ousts Lucky Loser
This is a rare foray for Muller onto the senior tour, whose previous attempts to qualify for the main draw of tournaments – at the Australian Open and Montpellier – had both ended in failure.
This time, though, he dug deep, defeating Zhizhen Zang of China, and Tomas Machac of the Czech Republic, both ranked considerably higher than him, to earn himself a place in the first round.
He was perhaps a trifle fortunate to be drawn against the Lucky Loser Nikoloz Basilashvili, but the Georgian is a highly experienced competitor, who has been a top 30 player in his time.
The first set was tight, with both men making plenty of unforced errors. Basilashvili had a chance to serve for the set, could not take it, and it was Muller, who took the set in the eventual tie-break.
There was no let-up in the intensity in the second set, with again Basilashvili serving for it, only to drop his serve at the vital time.
It meant another tie-break during the course of which Muller held three match points without being able to convert any of them. And it was the Georgian’s turn to profit and to level the match.
Muller shrugged off his disappointment as the match went to a third set, and again fortunes fluctuated. But then Basilashvili dropped his serve one time too many, giving Muller the chance to serve out, which he took.
Van de Zandschulp v Muller Prediction and Tip
Given the disparity in world ranking, and the gap in terms of main tour experience, van de Zandschulp can be expected to win this match without undue difficulty.
