Brandon Nakashima v Daniel Altmaier Head to Head
This will be their first meeting.

Nakashima Returns From Extend Break
Brandon Nakashima didn’t play since the Australian Open and even there he didn’t play that well. He was okay but he ran into compatriot Mackenzie McDonald who proved better in his excellent run down under. So his record so far is only 1-2 but Acapulco is familiar ground.
I don’t think he’ll have too many issues finding a rhythm rather quickly though some rust is expected. Despite playing here twice, Nakashima never made it past the first round losing twice in close matches. I expect another close one for the American.
He’s a better player than Altmaier on hard courts but not playing in over a month leaves a mark on even the best of players. The key for winning the match will be the serve because at this stage fo his career it’s still something he rellies on.
Should the match be close and go to tiebreak I have full confidence that he will be to handle because he’s show himself very composed in those situations.

Altmaier Prepares on Challenger Tour
Unlike his opponent who will be getting into this matchup with any matches, Altmaier prepared properly. He played at a challenger event in Monterrey getting acclimated to the Mexico weather. Acapulco is on the coast so it’s still quite different from Monterrey but having played matches recently should benefit him.
He also played really well winning two matches in straight sets before losing in the quarter-final. He has more matches than his opponent (9 to 3) but his record hasn’t been that strong. It’s only 3-6 indicating that he was mostly beaten by players which is good news for his opponent.
I do think Altmaier will put up a good fight because he has all the tools to succeed. The serve is pretty good, the groundstrokes are good enough and he was here last year too. It was a loss to Cameron Norrie but the first set was pretty close ending in a tiebreak.
If he can keep it close and make it to a tiebreak, who knows what might happen?
Nakashima v Altmaier Prediction and Tip
Nakashima is the better player overall, there is no question about it however I do think that this will be a close one. I’d pick Nakashima to win but will recommend an over as the best bet in terms of value.
