Ann Li v Anna Blinkova Head to Head
They recently clashed in their first ever meeting in Austin and Blinkova had won that in straight sets.

It was only in January 2022 that Ann Li had hit her career-best ranking of 44th in the world. 14 months on she has plummetted to 177th on the WTA charts and is gasping for wins even on the ITF circuit.
This year she has featured in a total of six tournaments – three apiece on both the circuits – and has done nothing of note.
It was in Austin last week, she finally managed to qualify for the main draw but lost in the first round while on the ITF circuit, Li has five wins to three defeats.
That might not be that underwhelming on its own but given how well-placed Li was to break into the top 40 last year, she would have liked to do something better on the lower circuit.
Facing up to a player who has herself not been at her best in recent times, Li will hope to come up with her A-game to try and win her maiden match of the season. Could be tough going though.

Hobart Semifinalist Blinkova Needs to Get Going Again
After a strong start to the season which saw Blinkova make it as far as the semifinal of the Hobart International after starting out as a qualifier, she has floundered badly.
In the four tournaments that have followed, Blinkova has won just one match and lost five of her previous six encounters.
What would be more disturbing is some of those defeats have come to low-ranked players too. For example, Varvara Gracheva has defeated her twice. Erika Andreeva, ranked 127th has also gotten the better of her.
Which is why, despite that performance in Hobart, Blinkova will need to turn a corner if she wants to win this one, despite coming up against an out-of-form Li.
What might hold Blinkova in a good stead is her only victory of recent times came up against Li herself.
