Caroline Garcia v Sorana Cirstea Head to Head
Garcia has won both their previous meetings, in Toronto in 2017 and in Madrid in 2019. Both of those matches were three set affairs.

Garcia Holds Off Fernandez
Caroline Garcia needed three sets to oust Leylah Fernandez and march into the fourth round of the Indian Wells Open for the fourth time.
The Frenchwoman served 11 aces, won 86% points on the back of her first serve, saved both the break points that she faced in the match and capitalised on three of four breaking opportunities that she held to beat the Canadian 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1.
With the win Garcia improved her season record to 17-6. She has already featured in twi finals this year, finishing runners-up in Lyon and Monterrey.
The world no. 5 had also needed three sets to overcome Dalma Gálfi in the second round. The Hungarian had struck 14 aces in that match but Garcia won 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4. Garcia had not been broken in that match either as she saved all the four break points she faced.
An 11-time champion on the tour and a three-time WTA 1000 winner, Garcia has never reached the quarterfinals in Indian Wells. Can the 29-year-old make it to the last eight this year?

Cirstea Eases Past Pera
World no. 83 Sorana Cirstea eased past world no. 43 Bernarda Pera in the third round on Monday.
The win means the Romanian has now matched her previous best at Indian Wells achieved last year. Simona Halep had prevented her from reaching the quarterfinals last year.
This year, she has made it to the round of 16 without dropping a set. Cirstea began with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Kimberly Birrell in the first round. She next faced Madison Keys in the second round and was leading 6-1 against the 18th seed when the American withdrew from the contest.
In round 3 against Pera, Cirstea dominated from the start, building a 5-1 lead with a double break in the first set. Pera pulled a break back but that was not enough as the Romanian took a one-set-to-love lead.
She continued her dominance in the second set as well, breaking the American thrice and sealing a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
This is the first time this year that Cirstea has won consecutive main draw matches. She had a poor start to the season winning just 2 of her seven main draw matches prior to coming to Indian Wells. Can she continue her winning momentum and pull of an upset on Tuesday?
Garcia v Cirstea Prediction and Tip
Although she is yet to win a title this year, Garcia has been in excellent form this year, while Cirstea has struggled for most of the first quarter. Garcia also has the a 2-0 record from their previous meetings, so the Frenchwoman is primed to succeed in this contest.
