Gael Monfils v Ugo Humbert Head to Head
They have faced off once before this in a match that came at the 2019 Wimbledon. Humbert had won that first round match in five sets.

Monfils had been out of tennis for a while because of fitness concerns and that saw his ranking fall to 280th in the world.
He made a return earlier this month as he took to court for his opening round of the Indian Wells Open against Jordan Thompson. All that Monfils managed to win was four games.
There was a marginal improvement in his performance in the Phoenix Challenger that he featured in after that. The Frenchman still lost in the first round but that match against Alexander Shevchenko went into a third set. Shevchenko would go on to make the final.
Monfils will be looking for that first win since he last triumphed in Montreal last year but against a player who has shown reasonable form in recent times.

Humbert Coming off Third Round Appearance at Indian Wells
Once ranked 25th in the world, Humbert has fallen behind since but has shown signs of his old self this season.
Like he did at the Australian Open where he overcame Richard Gasquet and Denis Kudla to make the third round. Or even at the Indian Wells Open at which he struck form against Bernabe Zapata Miralles and Denis Shapovalov in the first two rounds.
Between those two performances was Humbert’s appearance at the Pau Challenger where he made the final.
With that kind of confidence under his belt and facing up to a player who is probably still looking to get his feet back as a tennis player, Humbert will start off a favourite.
