Diego Schwartzman v Wu Yibing Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players which came at the 2023 Miami Masters and Schwartzman had won that in straight sets.

This has been a very forgettable season for Schwartzman which has been exacerbated by his performance on clay. Clay has been Schwartzman’s favourite surface for years and for him to struggle through six tournaments on it will be a huge surprise.
That’s how it’s been for Schwartzman though with the Argentine winning just one match across those six. Needless to say, he’s lost six matches.
It began with four first round losses at the South American tournaments earlier in February and continued with just an opening win in Monte-Carlo. Earlier in Estoril too, Schwartzman ha been knocked out in the opener.
Overall this season, it’s been hardly any different. Three other first round wins in hardcourt competitions have come along with five defeats.

Yibing Coming off a Schwartzman Loss
In the last match that Yibing played this season, he was sent packing by Schwartzman – it had come in the second round at the Miami Open.
Overall though, Yibing has come of age this year with a Challenger tournament runner-up showing followed by a shock title win in Dallas. There he defeated Taylor Fritz and John Isner in the final two rounds to lift the trophy.
Since then he has suffered successive second round losses though, going out early in Indian Wells and Miami.
Yibing isn’t much of a clay-court player having never played a main draw match on this surface before this. Last season, Yibing had won a Futures tournament on dirt and was a quarterfinalist in a Challenger tournament but that’s about it.
