In Rome, De Minaur had lost in the first round in the first three years but last year he won his first two matches only to fall in the third round.
Seeded no. 17th, the world no. 18 had a first round bye this year. Can he make a solid start in the second round?
He has looked good overall this season and also claimed his seventh ATP title when he beat Tommy Paul in the Acapulco final.

Fucsovics got even better in the second set, breaking the serbian twice and building a 5-1 lead. He eventually took the one-hour-and-27-minute contest 6-4, 6-2.
Fucsovics won 85% points on the back of his first delivery and converted 4 of 5 break points, while saving one of two the he faced.
With the win, Fucsovics improved to 9-9 on the tour this year. It was his second tour-level main draw win on clay this season. He has an overall record of 16-11 this season, which includes a Challenger title in Canberra.
