Anhelina Kalinina v Diane Parry Head to Head
Kalinina leads 2-0, beating Parry last in Montpellier in 2021.

Kalinina Looking Strong
In 2021, Anhelina Kalinina of Ukraine cracked the top 100 with a season of 47-15, of which she bagged 31 wins while losing only four matches on clay.
Last year, she was 34-22 and managed to crack the top 50. Now, she is ranked World No. 25 and is coming to Paris with the best singles run of her career.
She reached the final in the Italian Open, beating the likes of Sofia Kenin, Madison Keys, Beatriz Haddad Maia, and Veronika Kudermetova. In the final against Elena Rybakina, Kalinina was forced to retire in the second set.
Nonetheless, a moment like this has been long in the making for Anhelina. Up until her stint in Rome, her previous best results included third-round stints in Hobart and the Australian Open.
The question now is if she can maintain this confidence and rhythm in the French Open. Many players often fumble when put in the spotlight – will Kalinina prove to be an exception?

Parry Coming off a Good Run
Diane Parry, age 20, has got some wind in her sails ahead of her home Grand Slam. She recently won the Clarins Challenger in Paris, courtesy of a walkover in the final – but she did put up quite a show through the tournament.
Before that, she was a semifinalist at ITF Zagreb.
Looking at Diane’s 2023 form, most of her positive results have come in lower tournaments. On the WTA Tour, she has struggled (understandably so due to her lack of experience). As a matter of fact, Parry has not bagged a WTA main-draw win since the Monastir Open last October.
That said, she has done well for herself in Paris Slam over the years, having reached round three in the last edition.
Kalinina v Parry Prediction and Tip
Kalinina is more experienced and also fields a pretty impressive record on clay. Parry may put up some resistance but for her to overcome in-form Anhelina is whole another ball game.
Tips:
- Low-Risk Tip: Kalinina to win 2-0: 3/5
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 20.5 games: 5/6
