Sabalenka Has No Problems against Rakhimova
Sabalenka has upped her game drastically on clay and her performance against Kamilla Rakhimova in the third round of this year’s French Open was another indicator of that.
She took a mere 68 minutes of court time to usurp Rakhimova and wrap up her first ever appearance in the fourth round of this competition. Sabalenka won 6-2, 6-2 with four breaks of serves coming her way even as the world number two faced just one break-point and saved it.
A whopping 27 winners also went a long way in helping Sabalenka who was faced with Rakhimova’s nine winners and 11 unforced errors.
A first serve winning percentage of over 80 helped Sabalenka too but what’s interesting to note is how Rakhimova won eight of the 14 points on her opponent’s second serve.
That’s where Sabalenka might need to be careful as the opponent quality grows in the competition in the future rounds.

Stephens Stretched by Putintseva
Stephens is a former French Open finalist and while consistency has never been her forte, she has displayed some excellent form in this tournament so far.
After having shocked the 4/5 favourite Karolina Pliskova in the first round here, she went past Varvara Gracheva in the second. And then in her third round match, despite facing some resistance from Yulia Putintseva, Stephens won her third match in a row for the second successive tournament.
The American was on court for two hours and 20 minutes in her 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory but rather interestingly, she was at the receiving end of 17 break-points in the entire encounter. Stephens was broken five times but came back strongly to overcome her opponent seven times.
This included six breaks of serves in the final including two in a row for Stephens after she had fallen 2-3 behind.
Can the former world number three now make things difficult for the current world number two?
