Brouwer Has Not Won for Two Months
Although born in the United States, Brouwer has Dutch ancestry and has chosen to represent them internationally.
He has appeared in one Challenger final in singles, which he lost, and three in doubles, winning two of them.
Earlier this year in Rotterdam he enjoyed the biggest win of his career to date when he beat Holger Rune, the Dane being forced to retire from their match, although he was a set and two breaks down at the time.
He would go on to reach the quarter-finals there.
Brouwer’s best result of the year to date, though, came in Houston, where he reached his first ATP semi-final before losing to Frances Tiafoe.
Unfortunately for him, he has not won a single match since Texas.
Included in that run was a defeat in the first round of qualifying for the French Open and in the first round of the Challenger event in Surbiton last week.
Brouwer has been granted a wildcard in Rosmalen.

Hijikata Fortunate to Make the Main Draw
Born in Australia to Japanese parents, few outside the tennis world had heard of Hijikata until be won the doubles title at this year’s Australian Open with partner, Jason Kubler.
And, to prove that was no fluke, he was the beaten finalist at the doubles in Delray Beach the following month.
Although his singles career cannot match such exploits, he did win his first Challenger title in February this year.
Hijikata would go on to make his Masters’ debut at Indian Wells, where he came through qualifying to make the second round.
This will be his first main draw appearance since then, although he owes his meeting with Brouwer to a stroke of luck.
Although Hijikata beat the Dutch veteran Robin Haase in the first round of qualifying, he was then beaten by Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania in straight sets in the second.
However, a reprieve as a Lucky Loser then saved him.
Brouwer v Hijikata Prediction and Tip
Although it has been two months since Brouwer last won a match, this is an ideal opportunity to end that sequence, in front of a home crowd, in the shape of the Lucky Loser.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Brouwer to win: 7/9
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 5/4
