Laslo Djere v Oscar Otte Head to Head

The pair have played each other three times before. On clay on the record is one win apiece – Djere won their Challenger match in Croatia in 2014, but three years later Otte was victorious in qualifying for the French Open.

Otte won their only match on the senior tour in the first round of Indian Wells earlier this year.

Djere Regarded as Clay Court Player

Although primarily regarded as a clay court player, Djere did reach the final of the Winston Salem Open last year, before losing to Adrian Mannarino of France on hard courts.

He was also a beaten finalist on his preferred surface of clay in a Challenger tournament in Italy last month.

The Serb, though, would make no great claims about his grass court game, with two second round appearances at Wimbledon the best he has managed so far.

However, he did make a winning start to his grass court season, beating the Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis in the first round at Rosmalen.

He would go on to lose to Alex de Minaur, but not before taking the Australian to three sets.

Otte in the Middle of a Prolonged Slump

It has been a disappointing 12 months for Otte.

This time last year as a top 40 player, his place in Halle would have been guaranteed, but now he has been forced to rely on a wildcard to take his place in the main draw.

That loss of form has seen him fail to win more than a single match in any tournament he has entered since the turn of the year,

His clay court season culminated in a first round defeat at the French Open and again in a Challenger event in Germany.

Nor did the switch to grass bring any immediate change in fortunes. He was beaten in the first round of Stuttgart last week by the Frenchman Gregoire Barrere in straight sets.

Djere v Otte Prediction and Tip

Although Djere is not regarded as a grass court player, he is facing a man lacking in confidence after such a prolonged poor run. Unless Otte can find inspiration from the German crowd, he is probably looking at another defeat.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Djere to win: 5/7
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Over 23.5 games in the match: 5/4
