The 29-year-old Frenchwoman, ranked no. 4 in the world, has featured in two finals so far this year but lost both of them. First she finished runner-up to Alycia Parks in Lyon and then she finished runner-up to Donna Vekic in Monterrey.
Recently, Garcia has been in ordinary form on clay. Having not won consecutive matches in the four clay court tournaments that she featured in. She will be hoping for a better outcome on grass, the surface where she has won three of her 11 titles.
Garcia had a 10-3 run on grass last year, when she won the title in Bad Homburg and reached the round of 16 in Wimbledon.

2013 Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki will be playing just her second tour level match of the season on Monday.
The 33-year-old German is 10-7 across levels in 2023 and produced her best result at the Orlando ITF where she was a semifinalist.
Lisicki was also a quarterfinalist in the Mexico City ITF, but her recent form has not been good as she has lost the last four of her matches, including the first qualifying round in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, which was her first grass court match of the season.
Ranked no. 292nd in the world, Lisicki will be playing in the main draw in Berlin for the fourth time and the first time since 2008.
A four-time tour-level winner from nine finals, Lisicki has played some of her best tennis on grass. In addition to finishing runner-up in Wimbledon in 2013, she was also a semifinalist at the grass court major in 2011 and has been a quarterfinalist thrice.
Lisicki also has won a grass court title in Birmingham in 2011.
