Veronika Kudermetova v Qinwen Zheng Head to Head
It is 1-1 between the two players; they last met in the 2023 Rome Open quarterfinal, where Kudermetova won in three sets.

Veronika Kudermetova now ranked World No. 13, is off to a good start on grass. Just last week in the Dutch city of Den Bosch, she reached the final, where she fell to Ekaterina Alexandrova (once again on grass) in three demanding sets.
While the Russian will be bummed after missing out on the title by a narrow margin, she will, nonetheless, be glad about the momentum and rhythm she has garnered on the green turf. Moreover, she finally made it to her first singles final of the year.
Her tally now at 22-13, Kudermetova has had a pretty good season. She was a semifinalist in Madrid, Rome, Doha, and Adelaide, where she beat a handful of big guns like Danielle Collins, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Daria Kasatkina, and Anastasia Potapova.
That said, Veronika has had her moments where she has been taken by surprise by unusual opponents – notably Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the French Open first round and Diana Shnaider in the Charleston opener.

World No. 25 Qinwen Zheng has had an erratic spell on the tour so far; the switch to grass either may or may not help her case.
For instance, on clay, the 20-year-old reached the quarterfinal in Rome and round three in Madrid – but in the French Open, she was dismissed early by Yulia Putintseva.
Similarly, Zheng also featured in the semifinal in WTA Abu Dhabi, but that great run was sandwiched between rather early losses in the Australian Open and WTA Doha.
All things considered, her record is now at 17-10. As for her overall record on grass, the youngster hasn’t had a lot of exposure yet. Her best result is reaching round three at Wimbledon in 2022.
Kudermetova v Zheng Prediction and Tip
This should be an interesting affair. While Kudermetova will start as the favourite due to her momentum and recent form, Zheng has proven to be a demanding opponent in the past and this time will be no different. The Russian should brace for resistance (and a possible upset) from Qinwen.
