Gauff leads 4-1, last beating Siniakova earlier in the season in the first round of the Australian Open 6-1, 6-4.

Gauff in Superb Form

Coco Gauff, currently ranked World No. 7, is 23-9 at the moment and looks set to take the grass courts by storm too.

Historically, this is one surface which she is yet to conquer, but then again, she is just 19 and has got a whole career ahead of her. To make her case, she has reached the fourth round at Wimbledon twice already.

Gauff’s recent exploits include a quarterfinal result in the French Open. Through the 2023 season, she has reached the closing rounds in Indian Wells, Dubai, and Doha. She also won the ASB Classic in January.

On the doubles side of things, she is ranked #4 – thanks to her title runs in Doha and Miami and runner-up feats in Madrid and Rome – all with Jessica Pegula.

Fielding plenty of momentum and rapidly building experience, she can surely take on Siniakova and make things difficult for the doubles specialist.

Siniakova in a Rut

Katerina Siniakova, age 27, finds herself battling a horrible slump on the singles tour. She is now 8-8, with her season-best result coming in Merida, where she was a semifinalist.

But then again, she has taken things quite slow there, with only eight tournaments to show for it. In fact, following the Sunshine Doubles (first-round exits in Miami and Indian Wells), Siniakova next featured only in the Roland Garros.

This dearth of momentum may have come on account of her fitness; even on the doubles tour, the current doubles number one has played in only four tournaments. She won the Australian Open and Indian Wells before taking a medical break.

That said, she is a two-time Wimbledon Doubles champion – surely that kind of pedigree and her overall experience should help her hold her own against Coco.

Gauff v Siniakova Prediction and Tip

Given Gauff’s imperious form, she is in store for a solid straight-set win. Siniakova is playing doubles on Monday, so that match may help her ease into the grass swing. Whether that will be enough for her to test the American is a hard call to make.

Tips:

  • Low-Risk Tip: Gauff to win 2-0: 7/11
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Over 20.5 games: 5/6
