Guido Pella v Marcos Giron Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before, at Roland Garros two years ago, Giron winning in four sets.

Grass Court Season Debut for Pella
Guido Pella is still playing with a Protected Ranking as he makes his way back to full fitness from the injury that kept him out for much of last season.
He is primarily regarded as a clay court player – all five of his senior finals, including his one solitary win in Brazil – have come on the surface.
Yet it is a career anomaly that his best Grand Slam performance was on grass, reaching the quarter-final in Wimbledon in 2019.
Despite that, he has only chosen now to make his grass court debut for the season, not having played since he lost in the second round of the French Open, beaten in four sets by the Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild.

Giron Primarily a Hard Court Player
Giron is primarily regarded as a hard court player.
All his titles on the junior tours, and his one senior final – a defeat at the hands of fellow American Brandon Nakashima in San Diego last year – have all come on that surface.
He has a modest Grand Slam record generally, included within which are two second round appearances at Wimbledon.
Nor have there been any indications so far this season that he is likely to improve on that when he returns to London in a week’s time.
In Stuttgart, he was beaten in the first round by the Czech Jiri Lehecka.
Made to qualify in Halle, he made the first round draw, and can consider himself unlucky to there have faced the world number three, Daniil Medvedev, losing to him in straight sets.
Pella v Giron Prediction and Tip
Despite having that Wimbledon quarter-final on his CV, Pella is not a grass court player naturally, and has played no warm-up matches on the surface this year.
Giron, himself, does not excel on grass, but he should be confident of progressing to the second round in Mallorca.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Giron to win: 5/7
- Moderate Risk Tip: Under 22.5 games in the match: 4/5
