Sebastian Baez v Nuno Borges Head to Head
This will be their first tour level meeting. They met once at the ITF level with Borges winning that match in 2020.

Can Clay Specialist Baez Deliver on Grass?
Sebastian Baez plays his best tennis on clay and once again this year, he has produced the best results on dirt.
Baez is 15-15 overall this year and that includes a 14-10 record on clay, while he is just 1-5 on hard courts. Now he will play his first match of the season on grass court in Eastbourne.
Baez played his first two grass court tournaments last year, winning his first two round matches in Mallorca and Wimbledon, but falling in the second round of both the tournaments.
Ranked no. 43 in the world, the 22-year-old has won two ATP titles from four finals.
One of those title successes came in Cordoba earlier this year. He was also a semifinalist in Santiago and was a quarterfinalist in Rio, Estoril and Lyon.
Can he make a winning start on grass?

Borges Was a Semifinalist in Nottingham
World no. 69 Nuno Borges brings a 5-10 season record into the tournament.
But while the Portuguese has struggled at the tour level, he is 22-14 overall this year. That record includes two hard court Challenger titles in Monterrey and Phoenix.
Like Baez, Borges too has not played a lot on grass. The 26-year-old is 0-1 at the tour level on the surface, having lost the first round match in Wimbledon last year.
This year, the Portuguese has played two Challenger tournaments on grass, reaching the semifinals in Nottingham and falling in the first round in Ilkley.
Although Borges has played at the Challenger level only, he still has a 3-2 record on grass this year. And that experience gives him slight edge over Baez, who will be playing his first match of the season on the surface.
Baez v Borges Prediction and Tip
This is expected to be a good contest. Borges has already played five matches on grass and therefore is a slight favourite. Expect the Portuguese to edge out the Argentine.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Borges to win: 1/2
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 5/6
