Karolina Pliskova v Petra Martic Head to Head

Pliskova and Martic have met thrice on the tour and surprisingly, Martic has won all three of those matches. However, the Croatian built that 3-0 lead over Pliskova in the first half of this decade, with her last win coming in the 2013 Wimbledon.

Pliskova Continues to be Consistent

The Czech arrived in Miami on the back of a win-loss record of 16-4 – undoubtedly among the best on the WTA Tour right now. In every event she has played in so far, Pliskova has made it to the quarterfinal and in a few cases, gone beyond too.

Shortly after winning the title in Brisbane, she was a semifinalist in the Australian Open. Later in February, she reached the quarterfinal in WTA Dubai and the Indian Wells Open, losing respectively to Su-Wei Hsieh and Belinda Bencic.

She has a rather decent record in Miami, having reached the semifinal here in 2017 and the quarterfinal in 2018. The reigning Stuttgart Open champion is currently ranked as the World No. 7 and has been in an immaculate form this season.

Martic Starts with a Strong Win

Petra Martic commenced her run in the competition with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Shuai Zhang. That win marks the second time this year that the Croat has made it to the second round on the tour.

In Indian Wells and Dubai, she lost in the first round while in Melbourne, she went as far as the third round before losing to Sloane Stephens.

Martic was a quarterfinalist in the Tianjin Open and WTA Quebec City last year. Additionally, she won an ITF event in Chicago and was the runner-up in the Bucharest Open. However, her record against the top players in recent times hasn’t been this impressive.

Karolina Pliskova v Petra Martic Predictions & Tips

Even though Pliskova has lost to Martic thrice in her career, it is quite unlikely that this will happen again. The Czech has been in a far superior form than the Croat and it shouldn’t take long for her to win here.

Tip: Pliskova to win 2-0 at 5/6 with bet365 .
