Stefanos Tsitsipas v Andy Murray Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two and both have won one apiece. Murray clinched their encounter on grass in Stuttgart last season.

Tsitsipas Huffs & Puffs Past Thiem
In what turned out to be quite an unforgettable first round match spread across three days, Tsitsipas needed a final set tie-breaker to get Dominic Thiem in the first round of this tournament.
Having come into the 2023 Wimbledon on the back of a wretched form on grass, Tsitsipas was a 1/5 favourite against the struggling Thiem but was almost taken out by the former US Open champion.
Tsitsipas was on court for nearly four hours in total before winning 3-6, 7-6 (1), 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (8) to scrape through to the second round.
What was fascinating to watch was there were only three breaks of serves in the entire match – one for Thiem in the first set and two for Tsitsipas in the third. The remaining three, all of which went into tie-breakers, went to serve.
It was the 46 unforced errors that Thiem committed which allowed Tsitsipas to edge through, with the Greek number one making 14 fewer mistakes.
Can he now shrug that off and make it count against Murray?

Murray Makes Short Work of Peniston
It did not take Murray too long to get the better of Ryan Peniston in his opening round match, clinching his place in the round two in a little over two hours.
In a battle between two Brits, Murray came away a 6-3, 6-0, 6-1 winner with the match rarely rising to the kind of levels that the crowds might have wanted.
Murray faced a mere two break-points in the entire match, saving both, while breaking Peniston seven times in the encounter. He attacked Peniston’s second serve that yielded him a mere 32% of the points as Murray finished with 21 winners and 24 unforced errors.
He will hope to reverse that count when he takes to court for the second round at his favourite Grand Slam, but with successive titles on the Challenger circuit on grass this season, he could put up a strong performance either ways.
Tsitsipas v Murray Prediction and Tip
Fitness isn’t really much of a concern for Tsitsipas but playing back to back matches with one of them having gone that long could even things out slightly. Expecting Murray to put up a performance on the Wimbledon grass.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 36.5 games in the match: 5/6
