Muchova’s Played Just One Match Since French Open Final

Muchova is riding a high having shown what she is capable of on clay with her performance at the French Open. She had stunned Maria Sakkari in the first round of that tournament this year before putting an end to Aryna Sabalenka’s campaign in the semifinal.

And facing the might of Iga Swiatek in the final, Muchova had her chances before she lost the deciding set 6-4.

Unfortunately for Muchova, she did not play in any grass court competition in the lead-up to Wimbledon where she was sent packing by Jule Niemeier in the opener.

Muchova now returns to hardcourt competition and while she had a 10-3 record on clay for this season her performance on hardcourt surfaces is even better at 15-5.

Her only career WTA title has also come in a hardcourt competition making it a bit of an interesting match-up against Sasnovich.

Sasnovich Returns after Solid Grass Showing

For a player ranked 75th in the world, Sasnovich will be reasonably satisfied with her performance during the grass swing in which she won five of the nine matches she had played in.

That included a semifinal appearance at the Rosmalen Open and a second round showing at Wimbledon.

On clay, however, Sasnovich hasn’t had as good a season. The Belarusian player featured in five tournaments including the French Open and won a mere three matches in them, never going beyond the second round.

This was a far cry from what transpired last year when Sasnovich made the fourth round at the French Open and the quarterfinals in Hamburg later on.

Her only advantage going up against Sasnovich is her opponent might be a tad rusty while she herself has been doing a bit of court-play since her French Open exit.

Muchova v Sasnovich Prediction and Tip

While Muchova hasn’t played a lot of tennis in the last one month and a half, she has the game to get past her opponent here in straight sets.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Muchova to win in straight sets: 3/5
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Under 21.5 games in the match: 5/6
